The On Your Mark Family

Adult Supported Employment

Individuals may participate in our Supported Employment Services after mastering pre-requisite skills in teaching programs provided by Day Habilitation and Vocational Services and Work Readiness.

This program currently enables over 60 individuals to find jobs within our community and maintain employment with the support of job coaches. Work hours vary depending upon the needs of the work site and may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Individuals travel to their work sites independently.

Adult Supported EmploymentOn Your Mark works in collaboration with Staten island businesses to offer a variety of job opportunities at various locations. Some locations include our own Consumer Operated Businesses such as the OYM Café and Inclusive Community Center (ICC), Novel-Tees by On Your Mark, Exceptional Creations Gift Shop and our very own Chocolate Shop Retail Stores such as Home Depot, Shoprite and Stop and Shop, Restaurants such as McDonalds and Griffs bar and grill, and non-profit organizations such as the Staten Island University Hospital and the Jewish Community Center. Job responsibilities may include light maintenance, bagging groceries, preparing food, clerical work, laundry services, and customer services.

Adult Supported EmploymentThe program is comprised of the following components: Intake, Assessment, Workshop Training, Job Development, Destination Training, and Job Coaching. Each individual is placed in a site after assessing their preferences and skills. Once placed, our Job Coaches accompany them to work, slowly decreasing their support as the individual demonstrates their independence.
